Mac distribution
A universal Apple silicon and Intel development preview is built locally. App distribution is private; no public installer is offered. It targets macOS 14 or later and uses Apple Development signing. It is not notarized. Source builds require Xcode 26 or later; this build was tested with Xcode 27.2. Public distribution requires Developer ID signing and Apple notarization. A development certificate alone does not complete those steps.
iPhone and iPad distribution
The Xcode project includes an iOS 17+ target. Simulator builds can run locally. Installing on an iPhone requires an Apple development provisioning profile; public installation requires TestFlight or App Store review. A signed iOS archive has been built locally. TestFlight has not been published. There is no direct IPA download that bypasses Apple’s signing requirements.
Still ahead
Extension APIs, passkey-provider integration, Safari/Chrome profile import beyond bookmarks, tab groups, multi-profile isolation, a full content blocker, email verification, two-factor account authentication, crash recovery for downloads, reader extraction beyond visible article text, automatic app updates, multiple Mac windows, and iPhone default-browser eligibility remain future work. Sync snapshots currently have a 700 KB encrypted size limit per category.
A note on WebKit
Infinity uses Apple’s system WebKit framework through WKWebView. It does not bundle or compile a modified engine from the WebKit repository. Engine development happens in the upstream WebKit project.
